Bridal Transport.

Have you decided on your transport yet? If not let me show you just a few that the island has to offer. I think you’ll see that there is something for all tastes.

Wight Ribbon:The Viscount is the very latest model & very popular on the mainland. Built in Jan 2015 in Vintage White over Buckingham Blue it captures the style of the 1930’s but with all the benefits of a modern vehicle. The 1930’s look comes with imposing polished front grille, white wall tyres, large headlamps, running boards and hooter to announce your arrival!image
Poppy – Wight Wedding Campers and Nellie – Isle of wight wedding transport.
These two fab VWs are a fun and alternative option to the classic cars posted. Poppy is a bright red and white 1972 Bay Window camper. And Nellie is the pink 1960’s camper.
Both look great dressed up and will make quite the impact for the bride and groom. Given the space in them you could also have one for your bridesmaids.

Top tips for the newly engaged.

Top tips for the newly engaged.

I can’t quite believe I’ve not blogged since the New Year!!

Well it’s been a pretty fab year already, because back in March my wonderful charming and fabulous Mr proposed to me!

I wasn’t the cool calm collected girl I thought I would be, nope the poor guy didn’t have much of a chance to utter those 4 life changing words, I clocked the ring asked if this was what I thought it was and cried – I wasn’t expecting it in the slightest, I was in bed having a lazy Saturday and he had gone to get us breakfast from the lovely French franks, I took out my croissant and jam from the little bag and at the bottom there was a box, my mind rushed to thinking “ooh earrings”, a surprise birthday present – My birthday being on the Thursday just gone. And there it was a beautiful aquamarine and diamond ring. I looked at him and the look of the love in his eyes was unquestionable. Sitting there with this man who means the world to me I was overjoyed/content and just so, I was in this blissful bubble that I never wanted/want to pop – and it hasn’t. So here we are and I’m already planning like a mad woman.

Having blogged, posted and shared so much these past three years, that I’m so pleased to have done it all as it is going to be of so much help. But it is a hard quest! But one I’m enjoying very much.
So what have I picked up and want to share?
Well for starters set up a wedding only email, this is sooooo handy as when you start messaging companies/venues and all the other vendors it’s great to have them all in one place not getting lost or forgotten.

2. The budget, this is an important one, everyone loves a wedding and wants it to be memorable but don’t go into a marriage with debt. And this is where the email comes in handy, for all those quotes you’ll be after.

3. A drafting of the guest list, while your wedding may be a while off, when we did this ourselves it became clear that we need a venue to hold a biggish amount, so no dreams dashed once walking around and finding out that venue only holds x amount.

4. Picking a date, working out what month you want to wed will be handy as to when you really need to get on the ball with picking a venue, these and photographers tend to booked up well in advance especially for those summer months! – June July and August. Also prices go up a smidge more for peak times. So put that as a factor in your budget.

5. Always be on the same page. I’ve always believed that it’s the groom’s day as much as the bride. So when it comes to hosting one of the biggest events of your lives, be sure that its full of you both.

More blogs to come now i’m in the brides shoes!!

Happy New Year!!!

Flower trends 2015
Good morning and welcome to any newly engaged ladies/gents.
I’m kicking of the blog posts with some pretty flowers! I’ve been reading around some fab blogs and I’ve picked out some of the more popular flower choices for this year. I hope you like.

Bold and beautiful: Florists have noted a popular increase of bigger petal flowers being used in arrangements, flowers such as orchids, hydrangeas and large Peonies – these coming along for a second year for popular choice.

Hanging Flowers: Just a lovely addition to aisle and receptions.

Floral Headbands: Perhaps brought on a bit more with being seen at festivals, but it also brings back warm happy memories of my childhood, sitting in the school fields creating daisy headwear. Its pretty and whimsical.

Wild Flowers: This trend seems to be getting bigger and bigger, I think it’s lovely and with each month that passes different flowers bloom and different styles to create.

Pastels: again another theme that seems to be running into another year are pastels, and they work in any month, I for one wouldn’t have opted for these tones in the colder months but my thoughts have changed after seeing some lovely bouquets and they work perfectly.

Wishing you all the happiness for 2015, may it be filled with sparkle, laughter and romance.

Autumnal Bliss

Good morning!!
I’m still holding back on the pumpkin boards, but I’m really swaying towards the rustic country vibe, I think living on an island makes that “look” an easy one to achieve.

comfort
I’ve opted just for subtle colours of orange, browns and even beige, I know if you look around ,you will defiantly see that these colours are reflected in our hedgerows, and wooded areas.

In a few of my boards from last year, I used images of brides wearing cardigans, just a little something to take the chill away while outside for those all-important photos, well while looking for something a bit different for this board, I spotted the long sleeved wedding dress, it’s not glamorous as such but more boho and I totally love it! With flowing curly locks and a few flowers in your hair I think you’d feel every inch the fair maiden.

And for your leading man, I’m loving the textured suit, I like the used of different fabrics and the colours, If suits aren’t your thing then why opt for something that you’re going to feel comfortable in? but if something like the above is then fashion away!

I love simplicity! in the invites no fuss just pretty detailing. And I tried to tie the cake and flowers all together, I do love those flower combinations.

And the shoes, as ever I like the flash of colour under the dress, this aren’t too in your face orange, quite soft tone which I love.
This board to me is all about the calm and serine. Good food and music and just a relaxed day.

Ideas for keeping cosy….

Hello October!!!
I know I know, 6 days late but still!! At last October! The month totally and utterly full of wonderful flavours and just sings comfort! I’m in total awe if you are wedding in this month, and it is certainly a month that i would opt for, I’m pretty sure this is the month of many many themes! Pumpkins, apples, full on rustic woodland charm and well i could just go on and on, but I’ll leave that to today’s post.

Back in July I posted ideas on how to keep cool, well today while the rain has been lashing down, I decided to do a mini post for keeping cosy.

page

Hot Drinks bar: I love a good hot chocolate, topped with a mountain of marshmallows and whipped cream I am in heaven. So after getting wed, going back for welcome drinks and seeing this table of goodness I’m sure will delight the child in all of us, and you could always have a dash of something abit stronger..

Warm Cider: Enjoyed a few chilled glasses of cider this past summer? then why not keep it going only this time opt for mulled?

Baked Goods: Churros, liken to the doughnut but in stick form! And when dipped in nutella! well what could be better? I would have one of these set up like an ice cream truck or on a mini sweet cart!

Wrap up: During a service sometimes you are sat down for a while, the chill can creep in, and while a coat of course is an option, I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable so when i spotted the blanket idea, well I thought that was something I’d love….. with a hot chocolate and churros in hand?…. perhaps a bit much right?

But there are some fab ideas out there on how to keep warm, and while of course not all places are going to be chilly I think some of these could work for many.

Country dreaming

Good afternoon readers!

The sun is still shining and still wonderful, but there does seem to be a beautiful hazy golden glow that tends to roll in late in the afternoons, its comforting and cozy, not yet am i yet wanting to retreat indoors with a warm mug of something nice, rather I’d happily take a book and find a good field in which to relax and dream.

So todays board, is a touch of the whimsy and the beauty of a changing season in the country side.
Fall

On the edge of Autumn

So quickly the seasons come and go, but this summer has been wonderful, lots of sunny days, beach wonderings and ice creams and bbq’s a plenty. But I’m about ready for Autumn and all that it brings, the gold’s the reds crispy mornings and cosy snuggly nights, but before it infolds us fully, as always i’m enjoying the Summers last hoorah where it really kicks up its heels and shows off, The colours aren’t as bright but they turn into real warm and deep tones. So todays board is of course inspired by that very event.

Berry Delight.

autumnThe board is a touch of the whimsy, enchantment and ever so slightly “midsummers nights dream” I’ve gone for the rich berry tones which i love as they come in so many different shades. from the tone of the early buddy berrys to the shade they turn when perfect for picking.

I love the invite style, You and your Mr in a cartoon is a perfect touch of playfulness while yes te big day is all rather grown up there nothing wrong with having something a bit cute.

I’ve really loved the increase of the “naked” wedding cake, its perfect for any time of year, and you can juts laden it with any in season fruit, while this one has strawberries. blackberries and raspberries would make for the perfect fruit for this months wedding.

At this time of year the sky seems to be more golden, so when i saw this dress i had to use it. and with your bridemaids in that beautiful shade you’d look stunning in those wedding pictures, and to bring you all together i’ve opted for a shoe that almost matches the bridesmaids. And the flowers, swap those soft pinks for deep berry reds and plums!!

Happy September!!
