Olive You

Warm greetings this stunning sunny Friday afternoon, I wonder if last week’s inspiration board had something to do with it, Well either way let’s hope it lasts.

Onto this week’s inspiration for the inspiration board, Yesterday my day I was off the island for a few hours,  while away I popped into an lovely Italian restaurant, sitting there drinking wine and eating some fab food, it brought back past ideas of receptions venues for weddings.

For many couples planning their big day, a fancy manor, hotel or an outside reception just isn’t in their plans, So one option I like is a restaurant, and thinking on it the island is again there on the board with some fab options.

So here’s my board for today…

Inspired by the Italian restaurant. I’ve gone all Italian rustic with my theme.

Set up/Venue (of my choice for this board) : Olivos in Ryde has a lovely space, the bar is in the middle of the restaurant with  plenty of room to move about, as you walk through the doors straight to left is a good area for greeting your quests, stairs lead down to an area that I think would be perfect for the dance floor, nothing big but I think this would suit those who fancy something abit different. I imagine it as a bigger dinner party. You wouldn’t need to add too much, as that Italian olive grove vibe is there. Just a few teas lights on tables and bottles of olive oil for favours.

Food: As big foodie, I would love to add an area of nibbles – breads, oils, olives anything easy but flavoursome, I guess you could have antipasti to start on your menu.

I’ve also added a touch of flavour to my option of bouquet, and this is something I myself would really love to do. It’s an herb bouquet, this particular one has green succulents, lavender, rosemary, sage, white heather, ivory garden roses, and seasonal greenery. Would smell heavenly!

The Cake: Or should I say Profiterole tower!, I’ve read that is often seen at Italian weddings, so as this is the theme, it would be rude not too! A side of ice cream – or should I say Gelato, could be served alongside and severed up as dessert!.

The Dress: I’m still really loving the laced and very detailed backed dresses, Looking at this gown, I feel like she would be at home walking down the olive groves and it oozes calm and peace, Its not heavy again something I think is a must on your wedding day, and being as this is in a restaurant you wouldn’t want the big number.
