An Autumn Inspiration

Make up for Autumn 2013

Autumn: Rich and Warming.
As a bride getting wedded in this season using natures colours in your palette will go in your favour. I think there is a shade for every skin tone. bronzes, golds and browns seem to be on trend, so you could easliy go soft and gentle just using hints of these colours  or bold by adding a reddy orange lipstick. for those who love the vintage why not come away from the flowers and tea party vibe and going with the great getsby which is still hot.

Ruth Hawkins talks – festival bridal makeup

Festival Wedding Ideas-Standing out in the Crowd!
By Ruth Hawkins

With the festival season nearly upon us, what better way to celebrate your wedding then celebrate in style. Makeup Artist Ruth Hawkins shares some makeup secrets with all those brides- to- be: Because music festivals generally involve being at the mercy of the elements, the heat and humidity of summer—it’s important to make sure your makeup has staying power and that you’re fully protected from sun.BOLD, matte lips were a stand-out trend at the spring/summer 2013 catwalk shows and this was echoed with a lot of celebrities like Sophie Ellis-Bextor who rocks out this seasons electric pink lipstick for a more retro appeal.
I recommend my top five spends for your big day!

1- Foundations. Assuming you want to look radiant and dewy, Avoid highlighters, blushes and powder, mineral foundations and any kind of foundation that contain mica and titanium dioxide as these make the skin appear overly shiny and reflect too much light in photos. Opt for a shear but mattifying, waterproof foundation like Royal Effem or Illamasqua.

2- Primer. And of course a good base to apply this , and I would recommend Smash box photo finish primer as it will keep your makeup in place for hours and helps blending for an extra smooth flawless finish.

3- Blotting Sheets. Oil-absorbing sheets are a must have to use throughout the day to avoid topping up your makeup .

4- Q-tips. These are great items to carry around with you. Makeup can collect in the inner corners of your eyes, and you can use the q-tips to clean them out, tidy your makeup and add and blend more makeup.

5- Lip Tar. Goes on slick and moist, and dries down to a satin finish. Ultra-saturated in colour, it contains an unprecedented amount of pigment – a little goes a very, very long way, lasts for hours with no touch ups! Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E. It boosts natural collagen production.June-Board
